Bruder 03020: New Holland TG285 Tractor, 1:16 Scale

Head of its time 2004 release Bruder New Holland TG tractor from the 1:16 scale series. Obviously it has all the usual features that are still present in most tractors today, but its this model that has a special feature called super-steer which in our opinion, a much needed function for all current and future releases for taking corners at a smaller radius.

New Holland TG285 Tractor

Not many Bruder New Holland tractors in the series to consider but this one is sure to take there fancy if they are interested in New Holland only.

Take for example the exterior decor, it has all original fixtures such as the wing mirrors, orange hazard lights, cab lights, headlights and remarkable radiator detail on the bonnet.

The famous New Holland insignia is printed on the bonnet along with the distinguishable yellow stripe that makes up the NH branding.

Adjust the Tow Hitch

Larger scale Burder 03020 New Holland TG285 tractor is functional in more ways than one with a height-adjustable rear tow hitch making it so.

Big toy tractor like this one should be capable of towing all sorts of trailers and implements, along with full loads of sand, stones or gravel.

To do this just adjust the tow hitch with a twist of the nozzle to make the hitch go up and down, then find the perfect height that suites the implement in question.

BIG Counter-Weight

Currently fixed to the front mount is a detachable big counter-weight that has a far reaching design, so this is sure to help balance the tractor well towing a large load in the trailer.

As a matter of fact this big counter-weight is not functional at all, but more hollow, light, but still child-safe with a real heavy counter-weight causing problems.

Remove the weight any time from the mount to replace it with a compatible implement that is designed to fix to the front of the tractor; mower, seeder, etc.

Super-Steering Radius

Unique feature on this model is the so-called 'super-steer' steering manoeuvrability. That means not only do you control the front-axle, but in addition to that the steering is helped with the front knuckles.

Advantage to this feature where not available on any other Bruder tractor is the ability to manoeuvr at a far smaller turning radius. So where space is limited, this model is sure to get around it.

Not only that but the option to steer the tractor by hand, via the steering wheel or the standard steering rod also comes in to play - extending play value with realistic driving.

Access the Cab

Glazed enclosed driver's cab has visible cab detail including steering wheel, seating and controls that operate the tractor with fixed front loader or trailer in tow, whenever that may be.

Don't just admire the cab details through the windows, you can open the cab door on left side to access the cabin from there.

This results in full access to the steering wheel to control the front-axle well the seat is compatible with the Bruder bWorld figures.

Repair the Engine

Extended play goes from farmer to tractor driver, then a promotion to mechanic as well. Advantage to this is the tractor often needs maintenance work on the engine.

So get under the bonnet by lifting it up and make repairs when needed. Imaginative role play comes in handy here but is a welcome feature to have.

Well closed the bonnet cover will stay shut, its only when you open it up - as far as it will go - the bonnet will then stay open.
