Bruder 04040: Fendt 1050 Vario Tractor, 1:16 Scale

Starting in 2016 when this model was released - as featured on this Fendt tractor - Bruder re-designed the front mount which has a more interesting design, but still functions the same. With now removable wheels, the child can turn from farmer to mechanic in an instant by removing the wheels and inspecting the engine under the bonnet, which was their plan all along.

Fendt 1050 Vario Tractor

Fendt small series of tractors are overshadowed by their own series of large Fendt Vario tractors, also in 1:16 scale. And as there bigger, the functional parts are easier to get to and play with.

This includes accessing the cab interior, rear tow hitch, front mount, steerable wheels, open bonnet and the opening cab doors.

As in real life, all exterior decor is positioned in there correct spots; orange hazard lights, bonnet design with headlights, exhaust, wing mirrors and even a number plate, and let's not forget the manufacturers name along the bonnet.

As usual, its finished in the Fendt dark green with white cab roof and red tyre rims.

Steerable, Removable Wheels

Make no mistake, steering the big Bruder Fendt tractor via the steering rod is more efficient then attempting to steer the small steering wheel within the cab or turning the wheels by hand.

Well the rod is secured in its own compartment under the chassis, so is a bright orange nugget lock that is used to remove the actual wheels.

Removing the wheels - combined with the opening bonnet - will extend play by maintaining the vehicle and whenever it breaks down, things can be removed or opened up to inspect

Remember to position the wheel stand - set available separately - so it keeps the tractor off the ground well undertaking maintenance work in the garage or tractor shed.

Re-Designed Front Mount

New to this model is the re-designed front mount to attach accessories and implements from the Bruder Pro series.

Replicated from the real front mounted coupling, this design allows for more far reaching out accessories without limitations.

Noticeably sticking out more, but still with the slot in design and finally the clip on hook to keep it in. But the detail coming off the mount is also there to see, and more impressive than the previous design.

Already fitted is a counter-weight which can be lifted up to remove, before being replaced.

Height-Adjustable Hitch

Nothing this Fendt 1050 Vario tractor can tow in real life and within the Bruder Professional series.

That's thanks to the height adjustable rear coupling system compatible with all farm implements and trailers - with a clip on action with a loop and hook design.

Well big implements would need the rear tow hitch adjusted higher up, smaller trailers are positioned lower to the ground.

Opening Bonnet or Cab Doors

Head into the driver's cab or get under the bonnet with hinged cab doors and a fold up bonnet that opens just as it would in real life.

Access the big cab allows them to inspect the interior detail well the steering wheel can be steered.

And quess what, you can even fit a Bruder figure to the seat to bring the Fendt Vario tractor to life. To get inside the cab the figure can climb up the steps.

Opening up the bonnet extends play also by playing mechanic well working on the engine.

Real Suspension

Life would be very difficult driving a large, all-terrain tractor like this one without a reliable suspension to help roll over the ploughed, rough fields.

In reality, they are likely to drive the Bruder Fendt 1050 Vario tractor up and down steps and even over the occasional rocks, and when they do, they can carry on like it never happed.

You see a solid suspension in big toy tractors help with the push along action, well the usual obstacles never slow down the driving motion or bringing things to a halt well going over the smallest bump.
