Siku 1650: John Deere 7530 Tractor with Silage Trailer, Super

Incredibly, this set was first released in 2007, which is hard to believe as it fits in with the tractor and trailer sets that dominate the Super series in recent years. Siku's intention with this set is the need to collect cut grass off the meadow, to then be turned into silage. All the usual feature exist in the tractor well the trailer has an opening tailgate for offloading.

John Deere 7530 Tractor

Silage Trailer

Bring out the Siku silage trailer in 1:72 scale to collect all the freshly cut grass off the meadow; before taking it back to the farm to be stored in the silage pit, before turning it into edible silage for cattle.

What happens is well the silage trailer is pulled by the John Deere tractor; a self-propelled forager will pour mowed grass into the back of the trailer as the tractor and forager ride along side by side.

Then the packed in grass is emptied back at the farm through the opening tailgate.

Rear Tow Hitch to Drawbar

Connect the silage trailer to the tractor with a simple hook/hoop coupling. And it works like this: thread the drawbar of the trailer through the slot of the tractor tow hitch before securing over the hook.

Now the tractor can pull the trailer knowing its won't become unbuckled. Drawbar on trailer is long, so therefore this will assist in taking tighter corners, well preventing the bar rubbing on the tractor tyres.

Rolling Wheels

Rolling wheels are the John Deere tractor are free rolling with a push or pull motion (no steering), they have tread for rough terrain which is helped with the rubberised tyres.

All this is replicated onto the wheels of the trailer, which sit on a twin-axle. And when the trailer is disconnected from the tractor, this will help the trailer stay upright, thanks to the centrally located axle.
